About Us

We house families and individuals who have experienced crisis in their lives such as; loss of employment, housing or other life-controlling problems that rendered them homeless. Each potential resident must have a strong desire to change and develop a new way of life. We help our residents in many areas of achieving success. We prepare individuals who did not finish high school to take the high school equivalence test and become more productive citizens in our local community with higher paying jobs. We assist them in finding gainful employment with local established companies, financial recovery classes, and much more. It is our goal to prepare families and individuals to become financially strong, emotionally balanced and self efficient in every way.

Our History

On May 4, 2003, an F4 tornado struck the Jackson area. Due to this event, many families and individuals were left without a home. We obtained an old hospital that had been mostly vacant for several years. Now the victims of this tornado had a temporary place to stay. We handed out food and supplies daily in the devastated Jackson neighborhoods. During this period we housed up to 60 individuals and families nightly. They stayed with us until they found permanent housing or had their own homes renovated or rebuilt. In the 14 years since we recognize there is still a need and we are continuing to fill that need. We are a faith-based educational ministry for women and women with children. We rebuild lives, restore hope, and renew dreams. The women we serve have experienced crisis and/or loss in their lives. We provide all of the basic needs for our women. We assist with job readiness, resume building, finding gainful employment, and any other service that will prepare the women to achieve success. All classes are mandatory. Finance, nutrition, parenting, and Bible study are just some of the classes we offer.

We have a mandate by God to help, support, love, and minister to these women through their tough times by instilling hope and applying Christian principles.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to help equip women and their children to be active members of society. We are a lighthouse and a beacon of hope to all women and women with children who have a strong desire to change their way of life by implementing Biblical principles so that the cycle of chronic homelessness shall be broken.

Who We Help Photo

Who We Help

The Dream Center was located in a converted hospital and was able to house approximately 50 residents. Since relocating we are now serving approximately 20-23 women and children. To reside at the Dream Center, the women must have an intense desire to address their issues, change their lives, and transition back into society. As such, we offer GED classes, job readiness, transportation, addiction-recovery programs, financial self-sufficiency classes, parenting, chapel and other classes.

One very unique aspect of the Dream Center is that we house mothers and children (boys must be under the age of 17). We are blessed each day watching children grow and learn what the love of Christ truly is.

Even more important than the financial freedom we provide to our residents is the spiritual coaching we are able to give. Residents must attend on-site chapel daily in the morning, evenings and attend a church on Sunday morning. Our addiction recovery program is a Christ-centered system aimed at addressing the root cause of life-controlling issues (people seeking to fill the hole in their hearts with something other than God). It is amazing to see the broken and lost women who have nowhere to turn come to the Dream Center and end up finding an unexpected blessing – to be introduced to Jesus’ love.
